When pressure blasting a pressure tank is used from which the blasting medium and the compressed air are fed to the blasting jet via the same tube. By this method the specific weight of the blasting medium is independent. So when pressure blasting all types blasting medium can be used. Another feature of pressure blasting is the high and uniform power per unit surface. Large working distances are possible (jet orifice to workpiece surface) as the blasting medium exits at high speed. The pressure blasting process is normally applied in every airblast cabinet but can also be used in manual operated blasts cabinets and in fully automated pressure blasting cabinets.
